LinkedIn is testing a new Network feed. It puts posts from your connections and the people you follow in one place.
I already see posts from my connections on LinkedIn, so my questions are: What’s actually different about this new feed? And could it improve our social media engagement?
So, let’s explore what makes this feed different and whether it could actually help us stay connected.
What Is the Network Feed?
The regular LinkedIn feed is a mix. You see posts from your connections, accounts you follow, and recommended content from people you’ve never heard of.
The LinkedIn Network Feed is narrower. It only shows updates from people you’re already connected with or follow.
So, if you want to see what your colleagues, industry experts, or potential clients are sharing, you don’t have to scroll past random suggestions anymore.
Why Did LinkedIn Add It?
LinkedIn says more than half of Gen Z respondents in its research weren’t sure how to maintain professional relationships after connecting with someone.
That felt familiar to me.
We send a connection request. The person accepts. And then we never talk again.
Over time, those connections turn into just a number on our profiles.
The Network feed seems to be LinkedIn’s way of fixing that. When you can easily see what your connections are up to, it’s easier to react, comment, or start a conversation.
How Could It Help Users?
Here is where it could be handy:
- You wouldn’t have to search for posts from your colleagues and people you follow. They’d all be in one place.
- When you see a connection’s post right in front of you, you’re more likely to leave a comment instead of just scrolling past.
- Talking to someone regularly, even through a simple comment, can help you stay in touch instead of drifting apart over time.
- When you only want to see updates from your own network, you’d rather not spend time scrolling through unrelated recommendations.
These are only possible benefits. Will it improve the social engagement? We’ll have to wait and see. But it makes a good point: making connections is important. Staying connected is just as important.
What About Creators and Businesses?
For creators and businesses, this LinkedIn Feed Update could be another way to stay visible to people who already know you. But it doesn’t guarantee more views or engagement.
LinkedIn is also adding a few creator tools:
- Creator dashboard: Track what’s working and manage your content in one place. Rolling out globally.
- In-Stream Ads: Earn from pre-roll ads on your videos. Testing with select U.S. creators.
- Advice Sessions: Offer 1:1 consultations from your profile. Available to U.S. Business Premium users.
To me, this is a reminder that audience quality matters more than size. A small group that cares about what you share will do more for you than thousands of followers who never read your posts.
Is It Available to Everyone?
Not yet. LinkedIn is still testing the feature.
The test was announced on October 15, 2026, and it’s running in select countries, including India, the US, the UK, and Australia. LinkedIn hasn’t shared a global release date.
