Mobile Internet Is the Trend & its High Time You Optimize Your Site Mobile-friendly!

Why should you focus on mobile?

Your clients should have access to you and your business wherever they are and whenever they want. When you make your site mobile friendly, you would automatically get more potential clients, accelerating your business development towards log phase. Despite fear of personal information being hacked via internet purchase, the easiness and convenience that mobile internet provides makes everyday transactions including banking and shopping continue at a much wider phase. A two yearlong survey by KPMG examining the means by which consumers utilize mobile technology revealed that the percentage of people who used their mobiles for banking has risen form 19% to 46%, while the percentage that have used mobile for shopping has gone from 10% to 28%.

Provide your clients and employees with technology in hand, and note the difference it generates. Quicker response, faster decision making, over-time work done, conclusive results, easy accessibility, flexibility are all the results. Mobile benefits are never restricted to the size of your company or organization you own. Everyone is equally benefited by mobile technology, whether you are smaller than the smallest or bigger than the biggest.

Google Survey: Revelations

What Users Want Most From Mobile Sites Today – A study conducted by Google.

  • 74% of people say they’re more likely to return to a mobile-friendly site in the future
  • 67% of mobile users say that when they visit a mobile-friendly site, they’re more likely to make a purchase
  • 61% of users said that if they didn’t find what they were looking for right away on a mobile site, they’d quickly move on to another site
  • 48% of users say they feel frustrated and annoyed when they get to a site that’s not mobile-friendly
  • 36% said they felt like they’ve wasted their time by visiting those sites
  • 52% of users said that a bad mobile experience made them less likely to engage with a company
  • 48% said that if a site didn’t work well on their smartphones, it made them feel like the company didn’t care about their business
  • 75% of users prefer a mobile-friendly site, 96% of consumers say they’ve encountered sites that were clearly not designed for mobile devices

Hence, if your website is non-mobile friendly it’s a waste of time being online. With the Google Wallet launched by Google recently, a user need not enter the credit or debit card number, billing address or other payment information. All information is already securely stored in the Google Wallet, for an easy and secure purchase.

Survey: Indians top mobile internet usageMobile search seo

Survey Monkey’s research targeting four countries namely - India, the UK, the US, and Italy, reveals that Indians are those spending more time on mobile internet compared to other western countries. The survey reveals that almost 60% of the Indians spend over 20% of their Internet time on mobile rather than PC. Indians top the list of people who downloaded more mobile apps each month compared to those others globally. More interesting information the survey shared is that among the overall smartphone users worldwide, over 20% of their Internet time is spent on mobile. A study by Capgemini brought to light that Indians spend more of their time on online shopping than they do in a physical store purchase. This raises hope for ecommerce business owners in India, and also tends to share the belief rendered by online presence for those retailers who lack it.

The reason I think should be because of a faster mobile Internet access compared to the enormous loading time taken while using a PC or laptop. Whereas look at a completely different version of this survey by yet another one conducted by Ernst & Young. Their survey reveals that “38% stopped mobile web browsing, for the fear of overspending or because they didn't understand the different pricing options”. That’s probably due to the humpty number of options available here with increasingly complex price plans with/without offers, and I too was a victim!

What I think is that shopping is so much online over metropolitans and cities in India and as far as other areas are concerned technology is still in the developing phase (or) often ignored due to ignorance.

Yahoo’s focus shift towards mobile platform

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has got big plans for mobile and she has also announced that. She aims to make Yahoo a ‘mobile-first’ company.

Marissa says – “Our top priority is a focused, coherent mobile strategy. I think that there are going to be a few big players in the mobile search space, and I think Yahoo should definitely be one of them.”

Marissa is all set to launch a mobile friendly site all optimized for easy navigation while usage within mobile devices. Previously, the companies’ mobile brands were all dispersed across various applications and channels, now going to get streamlined, shares Marissa.
