With the advent of recession, more and more companies have shown interest on web based marketing with online presence of their commodities. Conventional businesses are cutting costs by diverting part or whole of their business into the web and online marketing. SEO had been a vague language to most of the old school business barons until a couple of years back. All they desired was to have an online catalogue or information of their business on the web, so that they can print it on their business card. The scenario has drastically changed now with companies aiming for a web presence to market or sell their commodity online and this branding their business on the web.

Online marketing comes cheap and flexible for corporate companies who spend millions on Television/Radio commercials. With the ever increasing netizens boosted with low cost internet services more and more people spend their time on the internet. Corporate companies have simply discovered the fact that the ROI on Web marketing, particularly SEM is much higher than conventional media. Internet marketing companies have reported a 10 fold increase in demand for SEO services last year. Social media sites play an important role in web marketing and you must have not forgot how President Barrack Obama had used it successfully for his election campaign. Media giants like CNN utilize social media site Twitter to boost up their web presence by twitting breaking news.

Research indicates that the ROI on SEO is much more than any other web marketing techniques. SEO not only drives organic traffic but also send in targeted visitors which results in better conversions. SEO provides online branding, driving targeted traffic, increased sales, visibility to any business at a cheap rate compared to the traditional media advertising. It is mandatory for businesses aimed at the middle class, higher middle class and the super rich clients to have a best search engine optimized web presence.

A good percentage of companies have claimed good returns on Organic Search Engine optimizing while a very few companies stick to PPC (Pay Per Click). While talking to an overseas client, she admits that the SEO campaign cost much less than a radio commercial yet it had brought in a considerable amount of sales. She added that its surprising that most of the business owners don’t have a clue on what an SEO is and how advantageous it is over the conventional advertising.

However the main issue with SEO is a lot of companies; individuals claim to offer SEO services without having any knowledge of SEO. They charge unsuspecting clients with outrageous amounts for their services which result in disaster. The situation is changing now as the clients become more and more aware of the importance of SEO the fake SEO companies are weeded out from the market. A lot have to be done before SEO become a necessity but it will not take much time.
